We first caught wind of Kappstein on Kristina Vogel’s Instagram feed and were impressed with the aesthetics of their cogs. Having held them now I can say that the real thing doesn’t disappoint. High quality stainless steel and precision machining have yielded a cog that has the feel of Phil Wood, without the weight. What is immediately obvious is the rounded tooth profile, something that Kappstein claims aids in power transmission and drive-train longevity. Another feature that may surprise some, is that the Pro Line is only available in 3/32" something you’ll notice on the entire German National Team’s ride
